Broken Remington Extractor

Hi Guys
Like the title says, I have a broken extractor on my Rem. model 700 BDL.
The problem is that it is a left handed model. Does anyone know if this extractor is different from a right handed extractor. Side by side, to me, they look the same, but my gunsmith says they are different. Also where could I look for one of these or does anyone have one that I could buy.

Brownells factory part catalogue does not denote a left and right extractor, just common parts.
