Just when you think you've seen everything, the trigger on my next to new M700 LSS snapped off.Its the X-Mark pro version, the latest and greatest version. The trigger pull itself broke, right through the adjusting screw hole.

Anyone ever seen anything like that before? I've got a couple of old style take-offs and a new Rifle Basix; all without safety parts.I'm sure I could hunt down the parts or another complete X-mark trigger easier than sending the rifle in.

I would imagine Remington will warranty that... the only trigger I have seen break was in shipping a barreled action loose in the carton...

So, is all the complaining about Remington's quality these days true?

I was going to be nice today.............

There is alot of strain on the trigger arm due to the 7.5 pound pull......the removal of material to fasilitate the adjustment screw has created a weak spot in the link..........seen it before?? yep....once on a x-mark pro......yours makes 2 that I know of now, but like everything made these days some just aren't as good as others........

I don't think I want it fixed, viewing that trigger as a design flaw. I'll either swap it out for an old style or aftermarket trigger.

Thanks Guntech, yodave, I was sincere in the question, it has been a long time since I purchased a Remington, last one was a model 7. And there HAS been a lot of complaining on here lately, so I thought I would pose a question to someone I thought to be honest in his answer.

A piece of metal the size of a trigger should be able to handle a LOT more than 10 lbs force, if it is of any quality.

You are correct, however if the casting is flawed then you can't expect the same strength as a piece with a perfect cast. If it was milled out of a solid piece of billet it would never be a issue, other then price and the time required to manuafacture.........

Let us know what you decide on, and how it turns out. I have been thinking about that anniversary edition 700. I wonder how it compares to the original....

What will you do if it happens in the field? A grizzly is charging at you and your trigger is broken.

let us email Remington to ask them to add a bayonet for all their rifles!

Put a rifle Basics in my sendero and a Timney in my Dads 700and They are excellent and under 150.00 I adjusted the stock trigger down to 2.5lbs on my VTR and it hasn't broken yet but yours is not the first I have seen broken definitely a flaw with these triggers

C'mon Dogleg, admit it..........that was one helluva flinch, to break off a trigger like that. Must be from shooting all those big guns !!!Laugh2

I've got several from all vintages, let me know if you need one.
