I know thinger isn't the right term but I'm not sure what it's called. The spring that pushes the bullets up for the bolt to push the bullet into the barrel has busted. I talked to a local gun part company to replace it, and they said no dice.

I have a welding/machine shop looking at it right now to see if they can build me one. Welding won't hold, I'm sure of that.

Does anyone know how I can fix this or maybe somebody has a spring that would work on my gun.

There is a follower that the loaded cartridge sits on before it is pushed into the chamber by the bolt.

Under that follower there is a spring that operates the follower.

It can be called a follower spring.

What is the actual make and model, serial number and caliber of the rifle? Does the magazine hinge open?

The part can be supplied from westerngunparts in Edmonton or any gunsmith should be able to get it for you.......

sorry so long to post back, My laptop was stolen and it's been a nightmare getting the new one caught up. Thanks for the info.

I believe most of the NON ENFIELD PARKER HALES were built on a MAUSER 98 style action , maybe a surplus Mauser 98 follower spring might work. You could try " Klunk" in the EQUIPMENT EXCHANGE under EXCHANGE OF PARTS AND BITS . He has some surplus gun parts. If it is not too costly you could try it to see if it fits. I feel some of the dealers see" PARKER HALE" and think , "oh they are out of business I can't get the part". But there may be a part for something similar sitting on their shelves. Believe it or not , not all gun stores or sometimes gunsmiths are as into guns and all their variations as some of the people on this site. GOOD LUCK.

I have one of those Thinger springs and will send it to you to get you going again, just because you're a gunnut! :D :D

It is a "W" shaped spring right? About half an inch wide and perhaps six to seven inches long, if you straightened it out?

"...thinger isn't the right term..." You're right. The proper term is thingy. AKA a follower spring. What model PH do you have?

If you could post a picture with a measuring tape showing length or width, that would help. I think out of all of us here, we can get you going again!
Just to hazard a guess- Midland
