I went to it 3 or 4 years ago. It was a team shoot and I was invited by a business associate whose company sponsored the team. I think it was 8 or 10 guys to a team. There were teams from all over, including the U.S.. Each team drew an area and a large bunch of pheasant were released in each area. We drew an area that was just a bare field and the pheasant didn't stop flying when released until they had left our area. It turned into the guys standing in a line downwind taking birds as they were flying by. The dogs beat the shooters to few birds that did land and retrieved the live birds since most wouldn't fly. No one got a shot off at one bird that flew across the river and a dog took off across the skimpy ice and retrieved it. It must have been 500 yards! All and all not my idea of hunting, though I appreciated the invite. I shot one bird early and left the rest for the team. In fairness to the organizers the guys in the next area over had tall grass and brush and had an excellent hunt with their well trained dogs, and others I talked to at the dinner afterwards did too. We just had bad luck in the draw. The format might have been changed since then.
