Brownells Noob Thread

If the value of the goods is under $100CND (NOT US $ as it will be over $100CDN after exchange), there's a very good chance you will not be hit with duties/taxes and handling fee. The odd time I've been hit but I'd say 95% of my sub $100CDN packages have been without additional fees.

I've been hit with duty and taxes every time I've ordered. I've only order under 100.

I always select USPS Parcel post Priority Mail for the shipping method. NEVER use UPS.

UPS was cheaper and way faster on my last order from Brownells. The shipping was 29 instead of 39 USPS. UPS has different service levels and some have NO Brokerage fees. I still had to pay the tax but not a crazy Brokerage fee I have in the past. Check it out for next time you order.

I select USPS and then put a note in the special instructions field stating "ship via USPS ground only" or something similar and they usual only charge me $10-$13 for shipping. I takes a couple of weeks but it gets here just fine and I usually do not get charged any custome fees.
