Has anyone lately ordered from Brownells and used the postal shipping option?
I placed an order back in March and since March 19 my order has been sitting at Canada Border Services Agency for review.
After a few calls and emails I found out that Canada Border Services Agency is taking longer (delaying) the process any of firearms or airsoft shipments coming into Canada.
Hopefully one day soon someone will go to work and process my shipment so I can get my order.

My package from Brownells has been at CBSA since Jan 29 and the order was for a few springs and guide rod.

I would be a bit curious how this could be a Brownell's issue, if you know the stuff that you ordered is being held up at Canada Customs - whatever system Brownell's used, got it as far as the Canadian border, so far - kind of like they did their part??

I have had shipments come right in and missed by customs and shipments held up by customs... it's just luck... what really pisses me off is a ten dollar charge to collect $2 in taxes...

Sorry I didn't make it more clear that I was not saying it was a Brownell's issue I just wanted to know if anyone else was having the same delays with Canada Customs.
I would not be surprised if these delays were an order from a certain party to say that they are getting tough on firearms.

I don't care for the $10 charge either but it sure is better than UPS's brokerage fees.
I have had good luck in the past with some coming through fine some checked at customs and some checked at customs with the taxes added to it.

My order has been sitting in customs since February 19.

We need to somehow make this a "free trade issue"

They are obstructing lawful enterprise in this country!

Every shipping company charges brokerage fee's to import packages, Canada post has the lowest fee's I know of in Canada locked in at $5 or $10

If you don't want to pay any brokerage you would have to clear your own packages, I don't think this is possible with Canada Post but you can with UPS. Clearing you own packages involves a bit ot running around so I just prefer to pay Canada post their reasonable fees. I have been charged over $100 brokerage fee from UPS in the past, so the $5-$10 flat fee from Canada post is not an issue for me I gladly pay it personally. What UPS does with brokearge should be illegal IMO, as they charge up to %50 of pacakge value for their brokerage fee

My last 2 Brownell's orders sat at CBSA for 3-4 weeks each.

Reloading dies and misc parts, nothing for any 'black rifles'.

Numrich order for Mauser parts was the same time period at CBSA.

Yes I would say they are delaying all gun related packages.

That's been my experience as well - Not just with UPS, but they were the worst of the bunch. Ultimately it's a retailer issue though, and it's up to the customer to choose shipping options carefully.

I'll only purchase from US retailers when they ships USPS (which is then handed over to Canada Post), or if they guarantee a shipping price that includes all brokerage fees.

I wished i've seen this before i ordered an optic adapter plate on Aprl 12. :bangHead:

I could've just waited for shops in canada to re-stock.

I agree that Canada post has a low rate and I would be okay with reasonable brokerage fees but UPS is out to lunch with their fees.
I have had some dealings with FedEx in the past and after the first shipment I received an invoice in the mail and when I called in to pay I was told that if I set up an account they would remove the brokerage fee and that with any future shipments if I called in the tracking number before it reached the border they would just charge the taxes to my account. I called UPS after I was talking with FedEx and asked if I could do the same with them and was told no that is not how they do business.
I have not had too may shipments from the US but most places only want to deal with UPS or USPS so I just go with USPS as in the past it has been fine.
I had one shipment that had to come by UPS and the brokerage fee on that one was just as much as the value of the item, what a rip off.

I had two packages from opposite ends of the country hit CBSA within a day of one another.

First was parts for a reloading press from RCBS through BC - it went through in 9 hours.
Second was 48 Mauser parts from Numrich through ON - it has been sitting at CBSA now for 2 days and I would expect it will be there for 3 weeks or more.

Death by 1000 cuts.
