Brownells orders

I had two packages from opposite ends of the country hit CBSA within a day of one another.

First was parts for a reloading press from RCBS through BC - it went through in 9 hours.
Second was 48 Mauser parts from Numrich through ON - it has been sitting at CBSA now for 2 days and I would expect it will be there for 3 weeks or more.

Death by 1000 cuts.

You will be lucky if it only takes three weeks.

I have a no5 flash hider sitting in Mississauga since Mar 7.

Just found out that my package at CBSA since Mar. 19th was released to Canada Post last night (May 11).
To me that is way to long but at least is wasn't as long as some have been waiting.

Hey guys need some help. I want to order a $80 small mount from Brownells and these are the options I get:

International Economy- $25
International Priority- $63
International Standard- $100

I read older posts that said to always choose USPS but these look like courier rates to me. Did any of you order with one of the above options and get it delivered by USPS-Canada Post? The $25 option looks like FedEx to me but I might be wrong. Thoughts?

bigmouth - it has now been a couple years - at the time, the customer service person for International Orders (Lisa?) was extra ordinary helpful to talk to - she probably knew more about our Customs laws that we do. I think the International Priority version is the one that she recommends - but would have to hear that from her these days, not from me - I believe the stuff is moved within the USA via a courier to a USPS centre, then crosses our border to CBSA - then released to Canada Post - to get to you - so starts out, there, with a courier, and ends up with you, via Canada Post. On some orders, I got dinged for GST and PST and also that $9.95 charge by Canada Post; on other orders there was nothing to pay when I picked up the parcel. Every order went through CBSA, though.

bigmouth - is, or used to be, important to get that shipping choice correct - the one and only time that I ordered from USA and selected the cheapest shipping - which was courier (perhaps about 2003?) - I got my parcel and then several weeks later, an invoice from that courier for "brokerage fees" - which was a substantial amount - that was over and above the initial purchase and shipping price that I paid to the USA vendor - might have been Brownell's, Numrich, or someone else - my understanding at that time was that it was nothing to do with the vendor - vendor has already paid the courier - was an additional cost imposed on the recipient by the courier. I have never used them for International orders since then. It is my understanding, that these days, that you do not get your parcel, at all, unless / until you pay that brokerage fee up front - but no personal experience at that, since I will not knowingly use them any more, from USA to Canada.

I have a .30 calibre decapping rod from Brownells - nothing else on the order - sitting with CBSA for over 4 weeks. They are probably trying to see where it fits on an AR15.

Last 2 orders I made I picked International Economy. It's basically whatever courier they use from the warehouse to a USPS facility in USA, then USPS to Canada then Canada Post from there. No brokerage fees except when CBSA keeps it for a month or more and charges tax and 9.95 or whatever it is for inspection these days.

Thank you very much!!!!! This was exactly the answer I hoped for. CBSA sucks though.

trying to put an order which is less than 4lb. in weight.
Does this mean the International Economy of $25 is the cheapest and is the actual shipping charge?

Before they made changes on this, I remember there were still Parcel Post Priority & Parcel Post Express.
I always choose the P.P. Priority and always charged the average $11.
