So I sort of know the answer to this however, it doesn't hurt to ask.
1) Has anyone as an individual gone through the ATF process of getting an import permit for gun parts from the US, or can this even be done?
2) Is there anyone in Canada that will order via Brownells(or other) on your behalf and not charge a silly amount to do so (we all know how to read the brownelss price codes).

Last I called Brownells they first said NO, then said I could have anything under $100 (as per ATF regulations) which doesn't get you very far.

Thanks.

It's paperwork that just takes a bit of time... and as an individual you can do it..

...the US State Department and US export regulations have screwed up what used to be...

Yes you can . lots of paper. you need to get a Canadian import permit, then fill out an DSP 83 and possibly an end user certificate. The exporter, who has to be registered as such, does the rest. Complicating the issue nowadays is that the manufacturer has to be registered with the US state dept even if you buy through a 3rd party exporter eg Brownells.
