Ive noticed on the last few purchases of mine that some items are under "STATE DEPARTMENT REGULATED PARTS" and others are "NON-REGULATED ITEMS".

Now I know that usually anything that goes on the gun are the regulated parts, and count towards the $100 order limit (without an export license)...and I can order as much in non-regulated items as I want (earpro, non-firearm items).

So on this last order, i had magpul ranger plates (regulated) and XTM panels (non-regulated). the total i had for the regulated items was $45 (3x) and then whatever the XTMs cost.

Do Brownells or anyone have a list of whats regulated and non-regulated? there seems to be some gun-items that arent regulated (magpul asap also)and I think it would be good to know so that we can place orders larger than $100 so long as those regulated items dont add up to more than the $100.

Some companies haven't bothered to get the paperwork that allows them to export to Canada. They seem to feel the market here isn't big enough.

im just suggesting that they put a line saying: "Regulated", "Non-regulated", or "Not available for Export" so that we can put together better orders without getting hit for shipping multiple times.

Actually a lot of them DO state if its regulated or not.

When ordering a part, look at the "NOTICES" tab at the bottom (between Products and Customer Reviews) and it will state the "Gun Parts" notice if it is a gun part, and if its not a gun part, it wont have the notice.

Thats how I determine whats considered a gun part or not. When I ordered my Daniel Defense PAK it was 70-some bucks or so, and I bought a Magpul AFG. Total was almost 110 bucks.

The DD PAK did NOT have the "gun parts" notice and the AFG Did have it, so it shipped up no problem.

I came up against a strange one last week. I was trying to order a bulb for my Surefire and some Burris rings. No go. This was not from Brownells but it struck me as the most innane thing ever. You can't or won't export a light bulb?????? I have an address in the US that I can get sent stuff but they tracked my isp address and shut me down. Crazy.
