Brownells Retro Rifles Part II

Has anyone tried a DPMS upper on the BCL102?

I'm told you can actually fit a DPMS upper to the BCL102 lower, but it will slide from side to side on the pins, and it wouldn't result in a functional firearm. If you could fit a DPMS upper, the Man would make some type of "variant" argument to make it restricted.

If this ends up being NR and affordable ( yeah right!) I’d be all over it.

There was some mention by one of the importers of it not being too far off the US MSRP of $1600.
The thing is the US MSRP already factors in a huge profit margin. So aside from Conversion to CAD and slight increase to cover overhead of import fees there is no valid reason they should be any more than $2000 CAD. Especially with the fact that dealers will get them at cost vice sticker price.
The dealers can set them at any price they want though lol And this is Canada and it may be NR so.....

Still, I would pay $1800 to $2000 gladly for a made in USA, reliable, lightweight, old school AR10 any day over $2K on some dodgy, made in Canada, maybe reliable, overweight monstrosity and still have to drop another $800 to replace junk parts any day but maybe that's just me.

I would not buy one if it's over $2K. Could not justify it. Especially with C71 threatening all semi autos starting real soon.

I think it will end up around C$3000. And I don't see any way to mount a scope. So I am unlikely to buy one. It would be another story if I could put a DPMS/SR25 upper on it, but then it would be restricted. Although there is a good chance it will end up as a 12.9 rifle eventually anyway, so scary.
