We have completed our research and applied for the FRT for Brownells BRN-10 rifles.

OMFG......I'm twitching waiting on this. I'm putting my tax return aside just in case.

Wolverine, can you estimate the aprox MSRP in Canada? If the stars align and we get a response back as NR (there's no way it can't be otherwise all the previous models would also have to change) what can we expect ball park once they hit Kanukistan soil? I'm seeing sale pricing right now on USA Brownells around the $1K to $1,200 for the BRN10A and about $1400 for the BRN10B

Will you be bringing in the all black BRN10B model as well with the lighter barrel under the guards?

We plan on importing both models if non restricted. As for pricing, I have no idea at this time. Brownells have to resolve some NAFTA issues and tax before we can calculate prices, it should not be worse than Brownells MAP plus the exchange rate assuming we have a margin that allows us to absorb the shipping and import costs. Who can say what will happen in the next year this is a long term project.

I don't think you need an FRT for the BRN, since it is an upper compatible with an AR-15 lower; as such, I don't see why you couldn't import as a restricted AR-15 component. Their new BRN-180 lower with the built in PIC rail will still fit an AR-15 upper; even if you have to remove the buffer tube and it would not function semi-automatic rifle any longer, it would still be an AR-15 in the eyes of the RCMP. Therefore, a coupled BRN-180 upper and lower would both still be considerd an AR-15 as far as the RCMP, and still be a restricted firearm.

The WS-MCR serves the same function, as a rifle using the AR-180 operating system, but is non-restricted, so Wolverine may have decided not to bring the BRN-180 in, as it would have limited appeal being restricted, especially at its price point. Also, with the current political climate, avoiding anything that links the 180 platform to the "poisonous tree" of the AR-15 family would be prudent. As far as I know, no other supplier has brought in the BRN-180 to Canada, for likely the same reasons. Just my speculation, up to Wolverine if they want to comment.

We would need an FRT to import a complete rifle, we should not need that for an top half. I haven't pursued this as I did not see much of a demand for it, given what is currently available and the political climate.

Thank you so much for both the reply and the efforts to bring these here for us.

I'm trying not to get my hopes too high here just in case.

You may not ever know how much this means to me personally but in my eyes you're truly doing the lords work on this! lol

Is it just my monitor or is the furniture on that Dutch AR10 painted Colt 601 green? I've never seen such a thing, I thought they were all chocolate brown when they left AI.

She is my personal rifle, a converted auto, Sudanese contract, I have never fired one full auto but I used to shoot this one and always enjoyed her. You do hear quite a twang from the spring but apart from that she was a delight. I was offered one of the semi auto "KLM" models many years ago but like a fool turned her down. I think these are one of the most underrated rifles of all time. As for the green paint, that was applied long before I owned her, but I seem to remember seeing at least one other like her. The only "poor" thing on these is that the hand guards are not as tough as they could be today but that was only due to the limitation of the available material when they were manufactured.

That green paint is factory original. My Dutch friends have seen pics of Mr. W's rifle and the paint compares very will with a couple of similar guns in the Dutch Army Museum and in a private collection.

The Dutch offer no explanation as to why a small fraction of the Sudanese AR10s were green.

I have held what I believed to have been that 1 missing/surviving KLM rifle. It was....stunning....to find it in that individual's collection. He knew he had something special, but wasn't aware of how special.

It exists...it is the grail....and no....I cannot tell where it is.

I was not sworn to secrecy, but it would be beyond impolite to break the trust I was shown.

I wouldn't object if you told the owner I was interested in her, feel free to pass on my details, thanks.:)
