Brownells

I always use the special filter available outside of the US and have never had a problem.

UPDATE:

So I went trough with my order for an extended mag release at Brownells. Looked at the status for my order this morning and it was canceled. So I decided to call and they told me they do not ship that particular item to Canada, really a mag release &?$%/$. Anyways pretty bummed out, I thought I could order some stuff there based on what feedback I had from GNC members. I don't even want to imagine what I can't order if i can't order a simple mag release... Not Brownells fault at all I understand the rules and laws they have to go trough but I'm just frustrated with my first international shopping experience and makes me question how people were able to do it in the past.

...true story

...my brother-in-law was 1/2 way across the niagara bridge on his return home when he was stopped 6 months ago by us customs and homeland security ...opening all trunks and inspecting all parcels ...the world has changed, my friends

I also got stopped and searched less than 100 feet from re-entering Canada. Nothing found nor was there anything to find so I was allowed to proceed. What I found odd was two of them walked towards me and one went through the passenger door to poke around while the other asked questions. The talker asked me to unlock the door for his partner to which I immediately complied without questioning it.

Now you've posted your brothers crime on a public forum. Wish him luck.

yes because homeland security wants him and this will be the thing that finally takes him down!
how could i have been so careless and silly to think id get away with it.
ritualistic suicide is now my only option left.

let me know when we arrive back in real life.

i know i ordered a couple compensators one day and had my brother who lives in texas send them up.
when i got them i didn't recognize the return address, so when i called my brother he said it wasn't his address it was the the address of the postal outlet that he used.

which i thought was smart, that way if they had a problem with the export they wouldn't give him grief over a $50 part.
if they stopped it i would just be out $50 and not have to worry about him getting into trouble.

silly americans export laws.
i could see if i was ordering a surface to air missile of some sort but a comp for a ruger 10/22????

Please review CGN guidelines respecting illegal exports.

I've purchased items in their store, in person. They could tell we were Canadian - Alberta plates on the car, Maple Leaf (not the hockey team) t-shirt, accent, statement "We're from Canada." The Brownells folks are great. Interestingly, they are allowed to ship more stuff to New Zealand than they are to Canada - stuff I'm interested in, anyway.

We were advised of the $100 (per person) limit for export without a permit, advised of items we couldn't purchase because the manufacturer didn't have an export license (this I don't fully understand), and served very well with the items we COULD purchase. As we were popping in while transiting the US (Montreal to Edmonton) via a few "tourist" sites - and Brownells for me is a tourist site - we didn't go the direct route across the northern interstate (90?). We also visited Rushmore...
