i have a late 90's Mk III practical, very nice pistol, but it will bite you if you have big hands. I changed out the hammer and sear with a cylinder and slide no bite kit. At the same time i removed the mag disconnect. I love shooting it, but i don't find it as accurate as most other semi's i own. Actually, in retrospect, that's not true. It can be very accurate, but i find it's very finicky about the ammo it get's fed. If it likes it it shoots very well, but it really dislikes anything else.
I agree that 800+ for a used one is to much. You should find a clean one for 700.... If you like the HP, the CZ75 grip was modeled off of it, and comes in a number of variations as stated. All are excellent. Good luck!
