Why aluminum and alloy? Couldn't they just make it out of steel?
Progress report on my wifes 1911 .22 as of today its had about 2500 rounds put through it and we have had a few issues. I find ours likes to shoot the solid bullets best and seems to jam often misfeeding hollow points due to the shape of the bullet nose. Went back to solids today and no jams or misfeeds. Also at around 1500 rounds we started to get a lot of failure to fire issues and thought we got a bad batch of ammunition. When I did a thorough break down clean I found a heavy carbon deposit in the firing pin exit hole that I had to pick out with a dental pick is was packed in so tight. After that cleaning is fired again consistantly.Browning 1911-22
Sept 22, 2012 Total rounds fired is over 8000 rounds.
Total FTF is 12, and 2 FTL.
Amazed at the dependability and durability of this gun.
