Browning 1911-22 .... 8000 rounds and counting...awesome .22

Have you inspected the recoil spring guide? Mine cracked after about 300 rounds. I got a replacement and I noticed its cracking the same way as the first one. It looks like the slide is hitting it when it recoils and pounds it until it breaks.

I'll take a closer look at the guide but I didn't notice anything when I cleaned it.

Browning 1911-22

I went to pick up my new H&K today at Al Simmon's and while i was waiting I saw the Browning on display.. I could not believe how small it was...

I asked the guy to show it to me, the moment I had it in my hands, I immediately fell in love with it... Bought it on the spot.

The whole package is super cool.. Even the brown pouch the gun comes in with is a nice touch.

I paid $579 for it, and considering that a walther p22/mosquito are around $500, I don't think 579 is too much for a gun of this type.

It felt really good in my hands and fit and finish looked excellent.

I was shooting my freinds tonight it works realy well the only thing i wish is that it had the 100 years on the gun and not just on the case .

On pictures it looks just a bit smaller than a full size 1911 but when you hold it or even see it in person it looks and feels so damn small...

I checked the spring guide very closely and never found any cracking what so ever. I'm heading to the range today to run a bulk box of Winchester 555 ammo through the gun. I'll inspect the guide after today's range time to let you know if any cracks show up.

As of today, Saturday Feb. 5 2012 I have put 1155 rounds through the gun and have not seen any indication of cracking or even any excessive wear to the recoil spring guide.

Note:
I have not and do not plan to clean and lube the gun until I start experiencing constant failures but find there is still lube on the guide along with lots of gun shot residue but no signs of cracking.

Thanks 1911nut, for the ongoing report. I think I'm just going to have to get me one of these...;)

Your more then welcome.
I've added 550 more rounds and put some pics on page 1 of this post. This gun is amazing. I broke down and lubed the slide just because it was dry and I really don't want any excessive wear,
This thing blows me away. Two (2) FTF is the only issues I've had in the 1700 rounds fired.

I've looked through a few forum sponsors and found nothing, anybody know of one that stocks these, or any shop that carries them and is good to deal with?

Looks like Frontier has some in stock at a good price...
