Didn't really care for the stock grips on my Browning 1911 .22, wanted something with more contrast but still keep the classic design so had a set of Larry Davidson custom grips made for it.

I ordered the same grips from Larry two weeks ago, should be here next week. Good taste!
I also got 4x4 's in black.

I was debating this color or a red black mix but ended up with these, I think they look 100x better then the stock ones do.

Yeah I also looked a the red/black and liked them, but these were a little more traditional in keeping with the original pistol from the early 1900s. Today I finnaly got it home. Last week I miss placed my black 4x4s, when I find them I'll post a pic. Have you shot it yet?

How do you find it?
Unfortunately I'm at my busy time at work and probably won't get ou for a few more weeks to put it though it's paces.
If you need ( want) holsters and mag holders , try www.ihlusa.com , they seem to be one of the only ones aftermarket making them for the 1911-22 the ship to Canada ( if that's we're you're from).

I find it shoots good, the GI sights suck, but no failures in any way using mini mags, Remington sub sonics, or CCI subs. It's a fun little plinker, only complaint is can't find any spare mags for it, I'll check out the holster link you gave, thanks.

I was thinking the same thing for grip color, wanted something that fit the classic look but wanted some contrast, plus the stock plastic although are more correct for the GI setup were just too cheap looking for me.

Yea, the site plane looks a little short for my old eyes so far, might have to paint a white dot on it. I mangaed to get two extra mags in BC. So good to go. On the grips I agree, just look so much " cooler".

I was thinking of adding a dot of paint to the front sight myself.

If you ever come across anymore spare mags please snag them, I'd be more then happy to take a couple off your hands, just send me a PM.

I ordered 2 spare mags directly from Browning in the US. They shipped them USPS and there was no duty or broker fees. If I recall they were about $45 each.

I just remembered that Grouse River Outfitters in Kelowna BC has carried them in the past. When I tried to purchase from them they were out of stock at the time so I went direct to Browning,

Checked with both Browning USA and Canada and they had none, maybe in December they said :(

Sorry to hear that, it was about 2 months ago that purchased the extra mags. When I wanted to purchase the 1911 .22 for my wife in March there was none to be had anywhere as I spent an entire day on the phone trying to find one. I finally found one at a small town sporting goods store 400 miles away so I grabbed it PDQ.

Same here, I ordered them and they available in Dec. or Jan. 2013. So cancelled the order and asked them to say "in stock"..
I got mine from Italian Sporting Goods just a mile from we're I work. This was in June, don't know if they have anymore.

Is this the website you guys are placing your orders on?

I searched "Larry Davidson Grips" and this knife store is the only thing that somewhat matches.

davidsonknives.com/

If so, how long did he take to make them and what was the cost?
