Browning 1911 380!!!! Is it the right gun?

I wanted to purchase the browning 1911 22 but now they have it in 380!!! Has anyone on the CGN handled or shot one? I would be very appreciative if anyone could share their in sights on it or on 380's in general.

Don't have one and haven't shot one, but I do know that ammo won't be the easiest/cheapest to obtain.

Don't quote me on this but I think Browning has the same model in 9mm. Shooters Choice in Kitchener has them in stock!

Friend bought two of them from epps.
Plastic sights, feel cheap all around IMHO.
Very small frame that makes them rather unenjoyable to shoot - again IMHO

I think Browning really dropped the ball on this one at its price point.
The front sight broke after very few rounds out of one of the two pistols. It is literally just plastic clips held in a slot on the slide.

Browning effed up IMO!

If they made it out of real metal (steel) they could have possibly convinced more discerning shooters to actually buy them.

Another contender in the race to the bottom of the barrel with cheap alloy guns.

Cheaper than .45Acp by a mile, and it does seem to be everywhere.

I shot one last month, along with the .22. The .380 I could scarce believe wasn't another .22

Guys with big hands have to shoot it single handed, I dare say. Gun functions well, sights are a bit coarse, and the trigger is quite heavy.

I'm of a like mind to sentiments expressed above - if it was steel, it'd be interesting, but both it and the .22 are very expensive for what they are.

Plus I don't like alloy, be it aluminum, zamack, or whatever. I won't buy a GSG for the same reason

I thought the .380 was all but dead, then I looked at CanadaAmmo's site who sells many of the less popular brands of ammo. They have 3 brands of 380, one was 25 rds. @$8.99. Not bad.

That $8.99 Norinco is very old new stock... Once it's gone it's all going to be the $.50 per round Fiocchi and PMC.

Can't hold a candle to my Browning BDA (Beretta) .380. Doublestack decent sights, factory 10 rd. mags were under $20. 12/6 of course. Only downside is .380 is more expensive than 9mm

No, it's the wrong gun. The right gun is the Browning Hi-Power.
