Browning 1911-A1-22

Mine was just delivered yesterday. So far I've just stripped it down (moderately easy) and done the initial cleaning.

It seems well made and has the feel of a quality piece. I won't have a chance to actually shoot it for a few days.

Be aware, it is tiny. Apparently it's about a 3/4 scale of a regular 1911 but it looks and feels like half scale. And it weighs nothing. When the postman handed me the box I thought it was empty. If you have a chance you might want to actually handle one before buying. Really, it's like a miniature.

To date I have 1700 rounds through mine with only 2 FTF and one was due to no primer in the round. I have not cleaned the Browning since the initial cleaning when new. The only thing I have done is oiled the rail at about 1600 rounds when it was drying out. I have an ongoing post on here to track it's progress. The post is only one or two pages ahead of this one.
The gun is small but lots of fun. It's surprisingly accurate.

It is a neat little 1911... And I do mean little...

Shoots like a dream and very accurate. So far I have shot 500 rounds and only 2 failures to fire, but I blame the rounds.

The fit and finish are really top notch. I simply love it...

The only gripe I have is the sights on it. Black on black is not my to my liking. I went and painted the front sight and that helped a bit...

Nice little toy (if we can call it that.....)....

I to like mine. It is a small weapon...er...Lead tosser 85% the size of a regular 1911. I have been having an issue with the recoil spring guide on mine. One cracked and a second one is cracking. But it is like the other guys say reliable and accurate. Upgraded sights would be nice too.

Seamus. I read that you had that issue on anothe post. Could it be possible your using rounds that are to powerful for the gun? Causing the slide to come back and hit the guide rod with too much force? Maybe a lighter ammo would work better. I could be completely out to lunch on it too.

Just received mine in the mail today--so will clean it up and wring it out asap.

They are very similar to the old (and prohibited) Llama or Star .22's that were available in the 1960's and 70's except the older ones were made with steel frames/slides and were quite a bit heavier.

The Browning feels good in the hand but if you have lage hands you might be suseptible to hammer bite. Trigger pull is quite heavy for a small pistol but hopefully will improve as it is broken in.

44Bore.

Two piece barrel and a nylon guide rod ............................... wonder how long that is going to hold up?
A really scaled down pistol in all regards. Great for the youngster and ladies with small hands.
Trigger pull = over the weight of the whole pistol +.
I'll take the full size 1911 22LR please.
