Goodday,

I've done a bit of research on 1919A4.com and it appears that such a conversion does (or did) exist...

Does anyone here in Canada have one?

If so, can we talk about borrowing and copying?

That would be interesting. I'd prefer an RPD but the talk about bringing those in seems to be just that, talk.

If it was reasonably priced and chrome lined I'd think hard about getting one.

I've seen and handled a ZB 26, Inglis Bren that was in 7.92 converted to 7.62 x 39 but never heard or seen a 1919 in any configuration in that calibre.

Now that I finally got mine running flawlessly after a year of tinkering, it gets real expensive to shoot fast.

7.62x39 fits the cloth belts perfect, so there should be no problem of belt capacity as long as it is belt and not links.

Not sure what would be required for this conversion though. Would be amazing if sombody made one, because I have crates of the stuff sitting around, and it is way cheaper then .30-06.

The belts...

Just looking around though at the US conversion sites, it requires a lot of parts to change over.

Convert your 1919 to
7.62x39 or 7.62x54R
7.62x39 conversion
$400.00

Conversion kit includes:
New Booster nut, Barrel, Dedicated Bolt, Front cartridge Stop, Modified top cover spring, Modified drive spring and 100 Nylon Links

But god... if parts became available... I wouldn't be firing a thousand or so a year from it, I would be going through dozens of crates from it.
