saw one of these the other day, i was not impressed by the over all look of it or the material that it is made of. i would rank it far below the winchesters and remingtons that i have looked at over the years.

am i missing something? is it known as an accurate rifle?

i have had a couple a bolts and they are pretty acurate. you can tune the trigger with an allen key. there glass bedded from the factory so there is not much to do except put in ammo and shoot.

The "A" bolt has been a very accurate rifle platform. I know people who own "A" bolts and they are happy gunowners/hunters and given the chance they would buy another.

I (and this is just my opinion) do not like the look, the stock ,the feel.
However if Santa put one under my Xmas tree I would not return it.:D
It is a very good hunting rifle. And I have seen it take down many a fine animal.

Cheers

I have a LH one in .300WinMag. Granted, it's my first and only big game rifle, I really like it.

Smooth bolt action, tang safety (love it), free floated barrel. Shoots cheapo Federal Power Points 3 into 1" at 100 off a bipod no problem. Never had a single feed issue or any part break.

The only gripe? Stupid magazine/floorplate setup. You have to open the floorplate, attach the mag (tough to get the right way when you're panicking) and then close the floorplate. Why not on or the other? Mags are friggen expensive ($125!!!!), but I only have the one. I don't shoot that many things that quickly anyway.

Little long for my liking, but that's more a function of the calibre. All in all a very nice rifle. I've handled buddies 700's and Marlins, but I still like mine better.

I owned a couple over the years, a 338 and a 284. Sold them both with no regrets. They were accurate, but the magazine setup and the triggers drove me wild! Then one of my pals broke the trigger on his...that was it for me. I unloaded them before anything silly could occur. Regards, Eagleye.

Aside from the clunky magazine setup, everything else on mine works fine on my 22/250.

It fits me well, is very accurate all the time, and I like the 60deg bolt. I sold two other 22 centerfires while downsizing this year and kept the A-Bolt.
