One of these followed me home last week. It is used but like brand new. This is the 28 inch bull barrel and adjustable comb rifle model in 308 (one of my favorite calibers). Anyone else have one of these? Good points, bad points? Please don't say they are a POS, just feedback on what yours is like. I will make that determination myself. For the price it seems like an awesome entry level rifle for the range and bench rest.

I am still deliberating which scope to put on the rifle for long range shooting. The max distance I have available to shoot locally is 300 yards unless I drive a good distance. My good X bolt 270wsm has a nice Nikon 3x9x50 and I love it, I am looking at a 3x10x50 also in Nikon for the browning. Opinions welcome.

They are not bad rifles, but as a target rifle they generally dont have the support some of the other manufacturers do. All else being equal, in stock form, have if bedded professionally, dial the trigger down or swap it out for an aftermarket unit, find a rail and optics and your off to the races. For 300 yards, and with the right ammunition you should be putting them inside of 5 inch groups all day, provided you can do your part.

If you ever hope to shoot beyond your mentioned goal, focus on something with a little more power on the high end, likely a 4-16 powered optic. This will enable you to place crosshairs more exact, and possibly see POI depending on the distance. A vortex HS Long range is an option, or a similar VX3 in similar power. Then buy the best rings you can afford and have them torqued to spec; dont cheap out. The best tires in the world run on an indy car are only as good as the lug nut (s) that hold them one, same applies to rings/bases.

Thanks for the advice TXS. The trigger on this one is a single set adjustable. Very light and very crisp. It will take some getting used to. Right now the rifle has weaver bases, I would like to find a quality one piece base if the spent rounds will clear.

Your wish will soon be granted. we have just started into production of a very high quality, (typical of ATRS) Picatinny scope rail in 0MOA as well as plus 20MOA.
These should be available for sale either later this month or early in April.
A scope with a 30mm tube will make ring selection easier as there are far more Picatinny style rings made in 30mm than in 1"
