Is there any one out there that owns one? If you do how do you like it? How well does it shoot? Is it worth buying? Would like a good long range gun and can not aford to build one so I am looking at the Browning.

I think getting a target rifle in 300 WSM is a bit silly, but their 308 model is supposed to be very good. I was chatting with my gunsmith who believes it is better than the Savage. All a matter of opinion I guess, but it is nice to have a choice now.

I don't know about the Browning, I did look at them before buying my Sako Finnlight 300wsm and am very happy with it. 0.50 inch 3 shot group @ 100yds with hand loads. Just started trying the RL17 with Nos. Acc.Bond 180gr. If Sako is out of your budget you will get similiar results with Tikka.

Guy I used to (Yeah, I know........) know bought an Eclipse 1000 in 300 WSM and has had it out to 1100 meters. Seemed happy with it at the time.

It is the same action and as the target model so I am told. Stock is really the only difference. Barrel lenght......?

Had the chance to handle one in 308 (target model) at a local store. I kinda liked it.

Thanks for the replies! I just don't want to buy a lemon! I guess if it takes waiting a bit until I can build one. I have 3 rifles that I have fun with .270 win remington model 700 that I can shoot out to 700 yard, .243 win, I never shot farther than 200 with it, and my Marlin 45-70 gov't I love as a close in bush gun. I want a .300 wsm for long range shooting and is good for elk and moose. I know my .270 is capable at reasonable range. But I would like a 30 cal. or a 7 mm wsm.
