So I have a chance to pick one up at a local shop for $1100. Is it worth it?
I've never owned a browning. And I don't know much about their a bolts. But I think thats a nice looking rifle.

Thanks

while browning does make good rifles, there is VERY little, in the way of after market parts for them, not the best choice if you want to get into precision shooting. i wouldnt spend the $ on one thats for sure

Probably has a 1 in 12" or 1 in 14" twist too, which will limit you to max 60 grain bullets, and more than likely, 55 grainers or smaller. Not good also, if you want long range shooting. Get a stevens 200 and a boyd's stock (350 for the gun, 150 shipped for stock, Now , after you bed it, (most gunsmiths will do it pretty cheap) you have about 4 to 500 bucks to spend on optics. The stevens barrels are good, and they are 1:9" twist, so they will toss 75 grain bullets with stability, so all your long range needs are taken care of for the same cost. (plus, I love my Boyd's stock. The colors are amazing, and its hard and stable. )

Where can you get one for $350? I see MSRP is $420. I've been trying to find a budget coyote rifle for a little while...

I kept my eye out for the better part of 8 months hoping to find a staggerfeed stevens in .223 I paid less than 350, but shipping made it 360 or so. Anyhow, they are out there, just keep money aside to instantly EMT. Or you'll never get one. Too many people want one. I just need to drop an aftermarket trigger on it, shoot it for a while, then send it away for a new barrel.

Don't pay $1100 for a Nice looking Rifle... unless all you are going to do is look at it. There is lots of good advice on this thread and others. Do some research... you can find better for a lot less.
