Has anybody installed this kit in their Gen 1 Browning A-Bolt. My newest abolt has the adjustable trigger but the lowest it goes is about 3.5 lbs. The timney spring kit advertises a beautiful 2lb pull with their spring kit.

Anybody done this mod to their browning? FYI it is only a $33 kit from the gunsmith.

Thanks,
Evan

I didn't measure it but its significantly better. Nice and crisp and light.

I wouldn't compare it to my Jewells but its 100 times better than stock.

i bought a spring kit from western gun parts i think it was 8 dollars. had a medium and light spring but both lighter than factory. works great

I'd pay $50 extra any day if I didnt have to deal with Western Gun Parts. Sure they have everything you could ever need except
people skills and certain level of friendliness

Well, I can't sympathize as I had an excellent experience with them yesterday. In fact I was talking about magazines with them and they said I should check out wholesale as their prices have spiked:eek: It probably wasn't the owner telling me this but all the same I was happy with the customer service.

About the trigger kit, after tax it was $36 and I must say it did its job. My pull scale measure the original pull at 3.2lbs and after the spring kit was able to get it to break consistently @ 1.5lbs and it was crisp. I slammed the but with the trigger cocked many times on the ground and it was completely safe at that setting.

Cheapest fix I have found so far, another happy Timney owner.

I installed it on a 30-06 for hunting. I will likely turn the screw to increase it up a bit after I do some load development with it, as a lighter trigger generally helps with tighter groups
