Just wondering if there are any Browning experts who might be able to give me some detail about this rifle I bought. Its an A-Bolt Stainless Hunter (walnut stock) in a .243 win. I bought it last year but really havent ever found much info on it. Thinking it might be a Shot-Show special or something but I really like the gun! Any info that someone might know would be helpful.

Looks to me like an A-Bolt Stainless Stalker where someone replaced the factory synthetic stock with a walnut one from an A-Bolt Hunter.

The only Stainless/Wood gun I know of for Browning is the White Gold. It has a different stock; rosewood endcap and Monte Carlo cheekpiece.

Edit- I stand corrected, appears they did a run in 2008 of a Stainless Hunter. As mentioned though, it sounds like a Stainless Stalker with walnut Hunter stock, instead of composite, nothing else.

Nice choice. You can lighten up the trigger by adjusting the screw that is hidden under the trigger guard. Go on the Browning website and scan the owners manuals to find out how. I have an A-bolt in 300 win mag and my brother has about 6 A-bolts, they are definatly nice guns!!
But the action still dont work as smoooooth as my Lee Enfield, ;). :dancingbanana:
Good luck on your great purchase!!!!!:)
