Browning A5 questions

My a5 is a 1953 Belgian. I don't recall it ever failing with the hundreds of shells I've put through it.

Thanks guys, I ordered two friction rings and one friction brake from Brownells, I guess i'll know for sure once I cycle some heavy and light loads through it

When I bought my first of many Auto-5s in the late 60s , a small container of Tallow, was supplied by Browning with the firearm. Directions were to clean mag tobe, and spring, and apply a light coat of "Tallow" to Mag tube. The container is a round disk 1 1/2" diameter , 1/4" thick, I have used it once a year since then, still lots left, ZERO problems, love the shotgun.
