Browning AB3

I like them, have 2, 308 and 270, quality...well they are made in japan so no issues there, triggers are fine and easy to lighten if you feel the need, they come factory bedded, stocks are quality both the walnut and syn version, accuracy is good too, sub moa with handloads, mags are well made, have had no issues with mine, nice lightweight rifles.

Have one in .270, no problems with it, shoots great. I am partial to savage rifles and the Xbolts, but the AB3 is right there in the mix if i were buying something new. .

If you hold it side by side with an Xbolt you can feel the difference in the little things, but when it comes to putting lead down range i can't see how you'd be disappointed in one.

I really like the inflex recoil pads browning uses, they really seem to cut down what you feel on the shoulder, not that 7mm-08 is going to be a kicker anyway.

Had one in 6.5 for a little while. Very functional rifle. Got mine on black Friday deal when Browning was giving $100 rebate back so good price to. When looking I was comparing it with the Winchester XPR and I liked a few small things on the Browning better. Position of safety and the mag held 1 more round were a couple of them if I am remembering right.

XPR and AB3 are basically the same 3 lug fat bolt/receiver, FN owns Browning and Winchester so it makes sense they would use the same receivers and bolts for 2 different lines with some minor differences.
What's odd is Winchester claims they are made in Portugal on their website...assembled there maybe, definitely not made there.

Triggers are different, mags are different (single stack poly for XPR, double stack steel/poly for AB3), minor differences in exterior receiver contour, different bolt handle, AB3 uses a traditional recoil lug washer with traditional attachment, XPR uses the Savage Axis type lug embedded into the stock and a barrel nut.
XPR is basically a slightly cheaper to manufacture AB3 with Winchester slapped on it, both are fine entry level type guns compared to everything in their price ranges.
