Browning Auto 5 info

Hey Guys,

I am looking into buying an Auto 5 in the 3'' set up.

Is there anything that a fella should know about these shotguns? I know everyone is always ranting about their "Pre-64 1894" and I also know that the A-5 got passed around like a cheerleader between countries during the second half of the century. I am wondering what are the good and the bads that are common in these things, and should I avoid any specific set of them..

If you are going to buy a vintage A5 buy a Japanese version with in-vector chokes then it will be steel shot compatible.

That's exactly what I was thinking. I just wasn't sure if the Japenese ones were garbage and prone to mechanical failure.

there is a new book out, similar to schwings book of the superposed, for the A-5. Might be a good investment.
