Browning Auto 5 repairs. ??

Look for an older shop in your area... older smiths most likely will have worked on Auto 5's.

What is wrong with yours?

Bought my Auto 5 cheap because it wouldn't cycle any load of any kind. Someone had forced the friction brake and spring from a 16/20 gauge onto the mag tube. Nothing would make that barrel budge when firing with that setup lol!

The bolt will only come half way back and if you let go of the bolt lever it snaps forward. It just can't return fully to the rear.

Browning , Montreal has put me onto their gunsmith who is very familiar with the gun and the problem...THANKS FELLOWS FOR YOUR COMMENT

Arff a looky'ear……………………………….

I'd pull the rear stock off and have a gander at the
spring mechanism and it's related parts.
Careful with what screws you pull out of the tang
as they all don't need to come out.

It could be the action spring yes, but anything the bolt moves could be the culprit. Carrier assembly, Barrel locking block, hammer all gets brought back with the bolt assembly. Just a couple thoughts:)
