I picked up a Browning B92 lever in 44 mag about a month ago and today was the first time I had a chance to shoot it.To say the least I was amazed on how accurate this little carbine is.This little gun shoots where shes pointed.Was shooting Federal 240gr ammo and the Browning liked what it was fed shooting in one ragged hole at fifty yards.All I can say is God help the Deer that gets within a hundred yards of me.

Congrats on a fine rifle. I have one also, never grouped it as yet, but it is good medicine on deer before the 100yrd mark. Glad you are happy with yours, but I am a fan of everything Browning makes..... :D
 
out of production

Yep, they're out of production but can be found in the classified ads and in the exchange forum if you post for one. Mine was $525 about 2 years ago and I thought it was very fairly priced. In excellent condition, I would think between $500 and $650 would be a fair price on one. You really can't beat a Browning!
 
I got to Fondle my Friends Brand New Stainless Steel 92(rossi) today and it's chambered in 454 Casull :shock:
It was very Nice looking with some kind of "Black" stain on the stocks with the Stainless finish, came with those "True glow" type sights. Sure is a wicked little Carbine that should have some serious Smack :twisted:
I'm really liking those little 92's 8)

I had a B-92 in .357 Mag once, too. Used it for Cowboy Action. Was a great little rifle but didn't like .38 Specials. If you short stroked the lever it would jam on .38 Specials. Ended up having to make all my loads on .357 Mag brass. Ended up getting a little Win '94AE Trapper in .357 that doesn't have the same issue with the .38 Special cases. The B-92 went down the road after that... ;)
 
My father has a B92 in 44 mag and it is a very accurate little rifle. Fun to shoot and cheap to reload for. I told him if he ever decides to part with it I want it!

Maybe a smidge but not if it's what you really, really want... :D

If it was the same rifle in .357 Mag I might be all over it for that price. But $700 - $750 would be a lot better... ;)
 
miles - buy it

Miles, that is not too much to ask for a NIB rifle. Buy it before it gets sold to someone else and you end up regretting it. Nuff said, Peter.
 
The thing with NIB rifles that are out of production is that some folks really want a particular rifle in that condition...and are willing to pay for it. I wonder how much a NIB Browning 71 Carbine would sell for; I bet lots because someone would be all over it like stink on a monkey. You just don't get too many opportunities like that.

I just picked up a new in the box Browning 1886 carbine Hi Grade in 45/70.I was able to talk the dealer down a bit plus have taxes thrwon in to boot.The gun still was a bit pricey but you don t see alot of these up for sale so it was worth it to me and it will go great with my Browning 92.

My 92 in 44 has one of those "Buckhorn" rear sights. I think a plain notch would be better, and peep even better.

I never shot anythign with it, but a guy in our dseer party carreis a Ruger SA 44. One shot, one kill, each time. He prefers the hollow points, and they even exit the far side, sometimes.
