just bought a new Browning lightweight stalker 270wsm. is this a good rifle for deer or what? a couple of people ive talked to say thats its only good for shooting 200 yards plus. My shooting will be in the 100 yard area.

Everyone has an opinion...Some aren't worth a grain of salt.

In my camp almost all of the guys told me my 25-06 was good for nothing..Too fast, no good in the brush, not a good killer, and only good for varment...I have taken more than 30 deer in the past 5yrs with it, and most of them are still singing the same tune....Oh well I will keep piling them up!

my uncle has a 270wsm BAR and he loves it, it shoots nice and is good at close or long range, everyone has there opinion but that doesn't mean you have to listen, happy shooting you have a nice gun there

a couple of people are just jealous! That rifle with a graduated scope or mildots can take animals from 50 yards to 500 yards. Find the grain of bullet it likes best 130, 140 or 150 and have fun.

It will electrocute animals just like the 2506 does!

Some people just dont understand the particulars of ballistic performance!

With that said, stick to high quality bullets, and just enjoy!
