I always appreciated a friends Remington 7400 in .35 Whelen, so when opportunity knocked via Tradex, I jumped. There’s not a lot online about rifles in this chambering. Anyone got one?

There was a company in the US, that converted Safari to 416 taylor. Never heard of one in 9.3x62. The frt table shows one in 458win mag. Makes more sense, since the 416 taylor, 338 win mag, and 458 win mag are all 2.5" magnum family.

I believe the cost of conversion to 416 taylor was $1800 usd, plus the 338 win mag base rifle.

I personally think the simplest and cheapest thing to try would be a 338 win mag Bar Safari, and call it done. If your set.on 9.3x62 power level, just load it at starting load level.

These are European models. They usually are a higher grade than the regular ones you will find here.

Check Browning's European websites;

The one I got is a mk2 alloy receiver with iron sights and a 20” barrel. I’ve got no plans to hot rod it. I’ve got a pile of PPU 286gr SP’s to try out.

You can find alot on the Browning euro only guns on euro sites, google translate is your friend

They have a nice HK semi in 9.3 as well...

Tradex had another one recently (the Carl Gustav version) and I was bummed that it sold just as I was about to buy it. I figured the odds of seeing one for sale again were slim to none, but I picked one up from a local member. Really neat rifle! Wolverine can get some 5rd mags for it from Haenel.

I’ve figured out Talley lows will work to mount a Trijicon accupoint 1-4x. I remember as a kid wanting a BAR because it looked like my Crossman 2200 air rifle.

Go for it if the asking price dots your wallet. I hunted with a Finnish guy who used one for over 20 years without issues. He said the only people who doesn’t like it are Russian hunters ....go figure ...
On second thought why do you need a semi auto hunting rifle....been asking that question for many many years and never got a good answer

Let's not sidetrack the discussion wrt 'need' Ghubert...

That being said, the BAR appeals to many because the semi auto bleeds off some of the recoil...

I had some problems with my handloads chambering. I only got a few shots in before I gave up. I realized my crimp was the culprit. When it did work, it was very comfortable to shoot.

Mine is in 30-06 and love it, it handle really well and feel light compare to Oder rifles I have, well balanced I guess! And the recoil is almost non existent!! Shout 1” at 100 m with out too much work and with factory ammo!
