Hey CGN!
I was hoping someone could help me out with this. I have a 1970's BAR and last week while doing some shooting, the firing pin retaining pin came out causing the firing pin to come out of the bolt rendering my rifle inoperable.
I'm having no luck finding a replacement pin. I have tried using a brass finishing nail among other things as a retaining pin but they keep falling out after a couple shots, causing me to have to disassemble the gun all over again.
Does anybody on here have any experience with this sort of thing or know how to ensure retaining pins don't slide out. I'm hesitant to use any glues or epoxies on my gun.

Thanks in advance,

Browning part number PO76114. Western Gun Parts in Edmonton. Probably a minimum charge of $25 for part orders.

Any 'home made' pin needs to be tight enough in the hole that you have to tap it in with force. A gunsmith can probably fix this.
