Years ago, there was a company, I believe in Kentucky that made Bar into big bores. Believe 375 Chatfield Taylor, and 458wm. Cost was $1800usd, plus a donor 338 rifle. Border hassle made me reconsider. If you check under armalytics.ca, believe 458 is a thing in Kanada. So at least one person did it. Should be rather simple, all 2.5" magnum family, so minimal feeding and mag work.

Ganderite had a suggestion for loading for the big magnum Bar. Use the fastest powder listed, so the peak pressure curve is passed.by the time it dumps gas into the port. Good performance, without beating up the mech.

Nope, she be a 458 build from some yrs back.
Yes I mean that one or one in 416 Taylor lol.

Did you build that one or imported?

Was contemplating this idea but on their website they only build these on MK 1 any idea what's their particular reason?

At one point I was thinking to have someone rebore a 338 wm to 375 Ruger but no one can assure me it will cycle properly and abandoned the idea.

Oop's on my end. I miss read yer initial statement. Fookin' Wiser's induced speed reading. Rifle was made stateside but I wished I had tried 'er out.

I've got a really nice shape BAR in 308 Win. I believe it is from 1975 but looks new. Unsure what Mark number it would be.

Does anyone know where I could find a synthetic stock set for it?

If I cannot find an aftermarket stock set I think I'll sell it. Too pretty and fancy for the bush.

Boyd's makes stocks for the BAR.

I never had the slightest use for a semi auto hunting rifle, but for some strange reason I have wanted a BAR 338 mag for a few years now. Im not even sure why but I just want one.
