I just got a Belgium made Browning BAR safari grade 2, in .30-06 I don't know too much about these rifles but i was wondering are they a good rifle for hunting/coyotes? What kind of groups should they get at 100 yards? Its in like new condition not a scratch or nick on it. Any info i could get would be grate

IMHO they are an excellent rifle. i have seen a few that needed to be kept very clean to cycle properly. the only complaint i have ,is that there a bit slower to reload than other semi's i.e. rem 7400, because the clip is attached to a floor plate and has to be snapped out of the floorplate to reload. in .30-06 the only problem for coyotes would be pelt damage.

I had bought exactly the same rifle at about this time last year, topped with a Leupold VX-I the best groups are 3/4" at 100 yards.

The Browning Bar safari is an excellent gun. At 100 yards, you should expect to get all 4 rounds in a half of a business card, from a rest, with a little test firing to find what it likes to shoot. Now using it for coyote’s, there isn’t going to be much left of the other side. Find a bullet for a thick skinned animal so it won’t expand as fast. I have the Bar in 270. Really enjoy it! Do you buy factory ammo or reload your own?

The only catch you may run in to for coyotes is the area you are using it. I see you are in Newmarket, there may be some areas where you can not use a 30 calibre rifle to hunt them. Other wise the Bar is a great gun.
