Browning bar shorttrac vs Mk3

Hello all, I traded for a browning bar shorttrac in 300 wsm. Looking at the pictures I thought it was a Mk3. But turned out to be a shorttrac. Are they the same rifle with a different name? Just curious for when I need parts in the future. What years were the bar’s called short and long tracs?

also what do they go for? I’m hoping I didn’t get ripped off thinking it was a Mk3. It’s blued with black synthetic stock. I traded about $1200 value for it. It also came with a couple boxes of ammo, dies and box of reloading bullets.

If it's in good shape I think you got yourself a decent deal considering the reloading components and a couple boxes of shells.

Long Trac and Short Trac came out in 2004, the MK3 came out in 2016.

The Mk3 can use bipod, the Shortrac/longtrac not so much unless you drill and add a stud or rail. Slight different asthetics. Mk3 looks sharper and the bolt release is further back giving a better finger position.
