Just looking for a ballpark figure on an older browning BAR, 30-06. "Used" condition.. Not beat up, but a few dings and scratches in the wood and some wear in the bluing. I'd say it's probably 25-30 years old. Any ideas ?

I traded one for a Garand a few years back. I had paid $750. for it and it was like new. The BAR is likely still worth in the $700.00 range but the IHC is likely worth $2,000 or more.

Actually, I'm the one buying it. Little bit of a story behind it. When my wife's grandfather died 17 years ago, his guns were left to the wife's brother. He's not really into hunting. His wife has been out of work for quite a while, and needs back surgery, and he needs cash and wants to sell them. I want them kept in the family, and would love to be able to give them to my kids someday, or grand kids. He needs some cash, and I'm not after a famiy discount... I told him I'd give him fair market value of the lot. He has the BAR, an old auto 5, an enfield 303, a semi auto 22, and a 410.

Qwick figures.......... a g-note.

Five-five fifty for the BAR.
Any old A-5 is worth $200
Tree oh trois @ one to one-fifty
Semi 22......no I-deer.......brown one
Same on the .410

Not 'nuff details to add to the guesstimmated amounts.

I seen this one a few days ago....the problem here is the only 1 post count and 0 trader rating. I personally wouldn't touch this with a 10 foot pole unless it was a face to face deal. The price is good though.:)

Oh common now, give the young fella a break! The price is a give-a-way! I have one that I have to blow off.

Was at an auction a few weeks ago. A 308 30 yr old BAR went for $900. Was in mint condition and hardly been fired. No mounts or scope ever mounted on it. I was shocked but hey, who am I to say.
