Browning Bar with boss

What is the justification for the step up?

I am looking at a BAR as well, but 30-06, and really having a tough time justifying twice the price (or in your case, thrice) for some features that would be nice but never really prevented a BAR from doing what it does for the last 50 years.

Trying to both upsell and frugal-ize myself, very difficult decisions.

Good morning. I am thinking of purchasing a Browning Bar 7mm mag with a boss and would like your opinion.
Thank you
The BOSS system works, and reduces recoil. In a BAR, which is a relatively heavy hunting rifle, coupled with the cycling system of the rifle, it should make that 7 mag into a pussycat. - dan

I agree fer sure on the BOSS system. (y) The Browning A-Bolt Stainless Stalker in 375 H&H I bought new yrs back shot very tight with Federal
270 gr ammo on my initial sight-in. The brake lessened the recoil a good bit but was super loud when shooting on a covered firing line.
I replaced the brake with the supplied muzzle weight that came with the rifle and it was the cat's arse fer my uses.

There really is no down side to that rifle. It's heavier than I would like personally, but they run like a sewing machine and are incredibly well built. There is also a BOSS CR that you may find out there which replaces the muzzle break part of the BOSS with a solid, fluted version. It accomplishes the same thing as the original BOSS, just without the recoil mitigation.
