I hunted with a BAR (270) for years and handed it down to my friend's son when he joined our moose camp. He shot his first big game animal with it last fall.
Out of all the common semi-auto rifles, this is the better one to buy. Each design has it's own issues, but the BAR, in my opinion and experience, has the fewest.

Good accurate, reliable rifles in my experience.

Price is resonable at $500.00 if it is in good functioning condition.

x2...a friend has one in 7mm Rem Mag and it was always reliable. I can't say that about my Remington 742.
