A friend has a Browning BBR in 7mag with that fancy 9 locking lug system. It's in a black synthetic stock. Anyone know anything about these rifles and what one might be worth? I looked thru EE and there have only been about 4 sold in the last year that I can see, all listed for about 800. Is that about right?

k - I'll take it apart and have a look later tonight. Does look like the McMillan Hunter stock outline I see online and comes with Pachmayer recoil pad (honeycomb type) but has some sort of spray on grip texture that appears to be coming off with normal handling wear. No checkering.
This synthetic stock stock doesn't give that feeling at all. The lines and feel are completely modern.
Well, this one likely isn't a mcmillan (no markings to speak of anyway) - not too sure what it is but whoever did the final inletting did a great job and they even glass bedded the recoil lug. It's clearly a fiber composite far superior to the usual tupperware. I sure like the way the stock and the action are positively locked in place. It's a metal-stock-metal sandwich with loads of bearing surface.
It just came home with me but it's making funny faces at my savage 110 in 7rm next to it in the safe. It started braggin' that it could outshoot the savage. A bbr outshoot a savage? Ha! but maybe. Might have to move 'er on before the primers start poppin'.
