Hello. Long story short, one of my friends dropped my BL-22 and the toe of the stock sheared off and the buttplate disintegrated. He has offered to pay up to the replacement cost of the stock, which Brownells lists as $159.99 USD. However, that is not a hard budget, just somewhere to start. Is anyone here willing to take on the project of building a new butt stock and matching fore-end for me? I want something that's nice and durable, but matches the class of the rifle. No need for checkering or anything, but a tough oil finish (like tung-oil) and a nice recoil pad (to protect against further drops) are a must.

Buy the Brownells stock. There's simply no way anyone can make a new set for you for that sort of money. In fact they'd still be working for less than $10/hr as well as providing a shop of expensive tools for free along with that even if they charge you three times that much.

My father makes stocks. If he charged what people were wanting to pay he'd make less then a 1$ an hour. When he charges what he is willing to take he makes in the neighbourhood $3-$4.

He's retired and enjoys it but he doesn't make anything doing it.

Western Gun Parts in Edmonton carry almost anything Browning. Suggest you contact them for a butt stock. Check their web site. You won't like the price but what other choice...

If they had a set, you maybe should have bought the set and traded in the forend or sold it.
If it is a factory stock, it may match, if aftermarket, good luck.
Browning are a pain in the butt to refinish,
I use to build stocks, sidelock shot guns, rifles, but no profit in it.
I ended up buying one from WGP. Hopefully it somewhat matches the color of my fore-end.
