My girlfriend bought me a new BLR for Christmas. I'm new to lever guns, and BLR's. My question involves the bolt assembly. When I engae the action, the bolt assembly pushes the hammer back to full ####. When I bring the lever back, the bolt assembly hits the hammer on the forward return. Took me a while to figure out what the little hiccup was in the action. Has anyone had any experience with this?

The only way there will be no contact on the way back foreward is if the hammer locks back out of the range of motion of the bolt. Which is impossible, as it's the bolt that cocks the hammer. Unless there's a step in the bolt....dammit, you've just made me have to go get my BLR out and look 
How does it SHOOT? They're pretty much the most accurate/consistent lever you'll ever shoot. They have a camming bolt with locking lugs like a bolt action. Just don't take it apart

Thanks guys, so I guess it's all normal. It shoots very nice with the open sights, I was impressed with the accuracy. Put about 60 rounds through it so far.
Ha ha....no sisters left...when i got the BLR I ran out and put an engagement ring on her finger...third time around for me, previous two never gave me a gun, pretty sure this one is a keeper.
