Browning BLR 81 magazine not unlocking from rifle

Hey everyone. We bought a magazine for my pre 81 blr and it fit in the gun and locked into place but now it will not unlock or come out of the rifle. Can anyone help me with this or do i have to take to a gun smith and wait several months?

Floor plate is shifted either forward or backward...

Is there a way i can get it to release??

Fight with it, it will come out, then readjust the floor plate.

My Belgian made .308 and 243 used to do this occasionally. Try opening the bolt and smacking the mag into the rifle with the palm of your hand.

By the way to the others BLR pre 81 or otherwise have no floor plates.

Mine is a Belgium made as well. Unfortunately the banging with my palm did not work haha. It does not look bent when i look into it though

Was it difficult to put in? Almost sounds like the walls have sprung out.
Does the mag release retract (visually confirm)?
