I have a blued BLR I would like to add some additional weather protection to. I've had a T3 cerakoted and very happy with it - but not sure if gunsmiths would be keen to take apart a BLR to cerakote it. Anyone had this done?

Use G96 Gun Treatment (silicone based) before you go hunting and after. It protects bluing quite well. I have used it in rain and sleet with great success. So have millions of other hunters.

YUP ! G96 is much cheaper and smells good too ! RJ
But it doesn't come in pretty colours.
I have Cerakoted several semis it does require a complete strip down if your doing it properly. Never done a BLR but I usually take around five hours per rifle two for tear down and reassemble hour and half for surface prep half hour spray and a hour baking. That's just one colour no fancy patterns there is a reason Cerakote is expensive.

If I were in the gun refinishing business, I wouldn't touch a BLR unless it were to arrive completely stripped, to be returned completely stripped.
