Browning BLR in .325 WSM - takedown model or not?

358Win or the other (soon to be obsolete) 325WSM?

.

Sorry SC, I should have been more specific. :) I dutifully followed your advice and when contacted by well respected CGNut with an offer to purchase his steel receiver, BLR 81 in .358; I immediately jumped on it.

Thank you, for helping me to take my head out of my ass with respect to that .325 WSM nonsense. ;)

Jeff.

So, for all of you .358 Winchester fans...do you have any pet loads you suggest I try? I'd really like to find a 250 grain load that "does all". Perhaps the 250 grain Nosler Partition?

Jeff.

I'd suggest somewhere around 42grs of IMR3031 behind a 250gr bullet for about 2250MV. The 250 partition may not be necessary as conventional bullets like the 250SpeerHC have been used successfully in the Yukon for virtually everything - just ask Ted (Why Not) about his friend Bert's long history hunting with that bullet in his 358.

Another really good "do all" option is a 225 partition loaded up to as close to 2500MV as possible. H4895 and IMR4895 have both been used to achieve this. The shorter 225gr partition saves on powder room - important in the 358 - and yet has the classic strong partition construction, expanding down to 1800.

Whelen B
