I Recently purchased a stainless laminated Browning BLR. My plan has always been to put on weaver 54 bases and leupold QRW rings so I can take off the scope and shoot open sights if I like.
I ran into a small aesthetic problem. Weaver makes some of their bases with a silver/stainless finish that would match the gun, but not the 54 (54 are required for their low profile as not not get in the eye path of the open sights).
Is there a way to remove the black finish from the other ones while not compromising them? Chemicals? If not are there other bases that would work?
