Browning boots failure.

I called Danner. All their hunting boots have laminated soles. Hard rubber bottom glued to a EVA midsole.

I've had good luck with my Cabelas Outfitter Series. I ended up with them after the 2nd pair of Danners they sent me were still too narrow.

I had a pair of Brownings that failed in a similar fashion, except mine came unglued from the from the front, and I was nowhere near the vehicle nor camp.
 
Aquaseal might work. It seems to be able to glue anything together. I have had good luck with wolverine boots for durability and merrell for comfort.

Did you ever try to dry your boots in front of the camp fire?

Go to their website danner.com. Yes they have some cheaper hunting boots with glued soles but they do have stitched down sole models too. Look at models like Acadia, Hood Winter light, Canadian, Grouse and Elk Ridge.

No I don't work for Danner:D...but they are damn good boots.
 
I use to have problems with boots until I bought a pair of leather Merrell boots that have the vibram sole. I have had them for 3 years and wear them continuously during all hunting seasons as well as other times. When moose hunting, I was up past the top of my boots in mud, dunked them in the water and had dry feet at the end of the day. I don't take it easy on boots and these have lasted and are still good. Other boots fall apart too quickly.
 
I spent $120 on a pair of Rocky's at TSC and have worn them 100's of times and they still feel and look brand new.
 
I did some looking and it seems I am looking for a boot with a goodyear welt type construction sole. Solid rubber, stitched and no foam insert.

On the upside, Browning did return the email and is looking into it. Even if they offered another boot, it's better than nothing.

Paul, you big brute, how do you expect those boots to hold up when you drag moose home by hand with them?

For deer season I really like the Treksta's, they are light and a great tread roll at the toe for easier stepping. Had them since 03 or 04 and they are still going strong, the laces are the only thing showing wear. They have seen some serious miles too.I put a coating of shoe goo or equivelent on the toe to avoid getting them cut on rocks and such.

Colder weather my Irish Setters get the nod, they are 1200 gram I think, full leather and stitched well too.

Get a name that specializes in boots, not a Company whose side line is boots. If they aren't making a living by them they won't do as good a job on them or they will outsource to the cheapest supplier...... oh I mean the best quality China can give. ;);)

I'm not in any hurry for another pair as I have a couple other options here to wear and have a whole nuther year before deer season starts again.

I'm doing some serious research before the next pair hits my VISA.

What, no sense of humour today?

One thing I found was the ones with the suede lowers that are vented, watch close how they flex at the ball of your foot, my first pair started cracking there. Wish I could recall the brand, I've since tossed them out.

Another suggestion is The Canada west boot Co. Not sure if they make a hunting boot but I wear their work boot and it is miles ahead of the Red Wings I had. Heel is a bit tall but other than that I am really impressed for $250.
They (CWB. Co.) also make the Brahma western cow poo kickers. I have a pair and they have held up for 17 years, still in great shape and will go that long again I bet.
 
I have owned a few pairs of moderate priced boots and Irish setters, all seemed pretty decent but my favourites by far are my Walmart camo boots, comfy and waterproof. Only good for about 4 years of heavy use but they only cost $59!
My Irish setters are great too, all of my boots need annual or bi annual waterproofing.

Lots of view on boots but fwiw I am very pleased with these
Danners. They are not a hunting boot, they are called a service boot. Full leather upper, with or without insulation. It has a lighter Vibram sole that allows one to move quietly. Adequate support without being heavy and clumsy. As waterproof as leather is.

The sole is stitched on and is replaceable.

I often do a lot of walking and these work well.
