i just bought a used bps 3" 12ga shot gun with a 20" smooth bore bbl i will be using it this fall on deer. However i want to replace the single bead with some form of sights preferably iron style, as i am hunting brush and generally walking. I am not a fan of red dots in this scenario. The problem is the gun has no vent rib to attach them to. As far as i can tell its a field grade model and i believe a 2009. Any ideals would be welcomed

Is that the original bbl on that BPS?

You may perhaps wish to also explore the feasibility of installing the type of factory rifle sights that are found on the 870 slug shotguns. The CGN member to consult with is "Arwen Ace" as he specializes in that kind of work among others.

from what i can tell it looks to be a bps high capacity in synthetic

Ah! That explains it. A thought may be to test accuracy @ 50 yards or so using the bead only.....you may have to use a few different brand of slugs to determine which work the best. For use in the thick stuff the shoooting distance will generally be around that figure. Heavy shotgun though for lugging around. :)
