The raccoons are driving me mad. They ate all the grapes on the vines this fall, munched the decorative pumpkins on the deck this week, and have hit the bird feeder of late (I know, it's a bit early for the feeder yet, but the bears are usually the problem in this regard and they have gone to bed). Given that I have the greatest respect for all nature's creatures, how would I go about mounting an LED flashlight to the BPS so I can dispatch some of these pesky critters in the wee hours? Is there a specific or generic mount for this gun/purpose?

You can clamp onto the mag tube if you have space, onto the barrel, or drill a rail bit onto the fore-end and mount the light there.

Why not a .22? Much quieter and won't wake the neighbors. Less mess close to the house. Mount a flashlight in your fore hand as you hold the stock.

I have held the flashlight in one hand and the gun in the other, tried taping a small powerful LED light to the barrel, and yes, used the 10/22 in much the same manner. Raccoons 10, me 1. Just thought there must be some commercial contraption available for this use that was adjustable/aimable rather than these Bubba methods, but maybe not. It's a pump action, so no room on the magazine tube to speak of and on the forend is probably not a great spot either. Having said this, I may just mask the barrel with electrical tape and use stainless clamps to hold the light. These could be shimmed too I imagine for purposes of aiming the light. Ranges are up to 20 yards or so and the LED lights have a very focused beam. What's the worst that can happen? No neighbours so noise is not and issue. Thanks for the feedback.

I'd never keep the dog out of the sardines. Anyway, I ordered an unusual offset flashlight mount from Brownells yesterday and if it works out I will advise for the benefit of those who are interested. I was not trying to get someone else to do my Google homework on this one, just hoping someone had something in use that they could recommend. Most reviews for these things were basically negative, with slippage and barrel/magazine damage as well. I plan to tape my barrel before attaching. Also, I think Rockie has gone to sleep until spring now with the advent of cold weather and some snow......

You need a friend to shine the light at them to distract themwhile you line up and shoot. Those inexpensive 1-2 million candlepower lights work great. Or just tree them then blast them out of the tree, thats how I got 5 at once, almost got the 6th but ran out of ammo, wasn't expecting that many.

LOL, that must be some kind of a record. I've gotten two at once (and missed the third). That was BPS in one hand, flashlight in the other. Quite a contortionist's feat I might add. Fast little buggers when they want to be aren't they? My bracket mount is on the way from Brownell's. Mind the shipping costs if you ever support these guys. :(
