Browning Buck Mark BDX. Any complaints?

I'm in the market for a semi-auto .22 Pistol to use for general target practice; after handling a few different pistols I think I like the feel of the Browning Buck Mark UDX with Rosewood grips. However after doing some online reading, I'm having an oddly hard time finding out what the downsides of this pistol are. The only complaints I can find are that it's a bit more expensive than some others, and sometimes they don't like certain brands of ammunition (which is pretty much any .22).

I don't expect any gun to be perfect, but I prefer knowing the common issues and knowing what I'm getting into. Does anyone have any horror stories about these pistols? Extractors wear out quickly? Impossible to clean? Bits rattle loose? Attracts the malevolent ghost of John Moses Browning?

I have the practical model but the internals would be the same. Seems well built and I have had no problems. Functions well with the various ammo I have tried. I like the fibre optic front site don't know if the udx has one , the notch on the rear site is a little wider than my other pistols but that's not really a problem. Handled the model you are referring to and really liked it. Have seen a lot of Buckmarks in various models at the range and nobody seems to have any complaints , issues or bad experiences.

We(gf and I) just got a camper model on boxing day. Put 500-600 rounds down it and we both love it. Nothing went wrong, very comfy in the hand, very accurate.
 
I own the UDX rosewood. When i first got it, I got a lot of light strikes and failures to eject. I tried to disassemble the gun for cleaning and somehow something got bent upon reassembly. It went to the gunsmith to be fixed and now it works very reliably. Go figure.
 
I have owned the cheapest UFX camper model and I absolutely love it as a target pistol. It hits well above its price point and out of all my 22's (m&p22, beretta u22, ruger mark 4, grand power k22 x trim, gsg 1911) it is my favourite go to pistol. I have thousands of rounds through mine and the only issue i have is after 400 or so rounds the top rail screw on the rear can wiggle loose if not tightened properly. Mine will eat any ammo: rem gold, fed blue box, wildcat, blazer, m22, mini mags, american eagle copper plated hp, etc. If i was only able to own 1 pistol of all the pistols i have shot, the buckmark would be my choice.
 
ive got the Browning Buckmark Pratical URX that i picked up... jesus has it been 6 years already!?!?!?!?!

anyways, love that gun!
i have probably close to a dozen 22 pistols and it is by far my favorite.
thing shoots great and runs everything ive tried in it.
my dad was out with me and tried it and liked it so much he ordered one when he got home.
next week went out with a coworker and same thing, he like it so much when he got home he ordered one.
both still have them and both still love them.

so my vote is go for it, like you said, no one is saying bad things about them - and thats because they are great 22's - in my opinion for the price point they are the best on the market.
 
i had one and i absolutely love it! the thing was very very accurate, my only complaint is its not as simple to take apart an clean as the milsurps i love so dearly
 
*sigh* I was hoping that for the good of my wallet someone would've been able to talk me out of this, sounds like this is the next one on the shopping list though.

Got the UDX model here with nearly 50000 rnds no issues just do a minimum clean of the barrel and action with alcohol and Q-tips, no need to do a field strip.
 
A friend of mine bought the 5 1/2" URX, no problems initially but then it developed a failure to lock open on the last round. This was consistent with every mag. Sent it back, waited a couple of months, returned with the same problem. Now it has been sent away again and has not been returned from servicing, we'll see if they have fixed it.
 
I have several Browning 22s.

Perform well with all types of ammo. You may want to break it in with something like minimags though.

The only warning (slight) is that if you dismantle it make sure you torque the main barrel screw set screw properly.
